Corfe Hills School Donation

In recent years we have been fortunate enough to build a connection between the Trust and Corfe Hills School at Broadstone.
The School nominated the Trust as a beneficiary for donations from their Annual Sponsored Sand Walk which has taken place over recent years.
It was found that donations were available for PHCTT to receive the sum of £3,682.34 and this sum was recently paid to us.
We take this opportunity of thanking the school, the students who were involved and of course those who donated funds to support the school and our hospital.

PHCTT Makes Gift to Poole Hospital Charity Christmas Appeal

The Trust received a request from Poole Hospital Charity to assist them with the 2020 Christmas Appeal.

The Clinical Management Team were seeking funds to purchase a further V-Scan Vein Finder to be used in various departments within the Hospital.  In 2019 PHCTT purchased one for the Nuclear Medicine Dept which had proved to be a great success. The item assists in finding veins for a variety of reasons, blood tests etc where the patients veins are not clearly visible to the naked eye.

PHCTT was delighted to agree to this request and advanced the funds necessary to purchase this item for the Hospital.

Subsequently we were delighted to hear that Poole Hospital Charity had once again been successful in funding sufficiently to purchase all the items on their Christmas Wish List.

Donation of V Scanner to Nuclear Medicine Dept. at Poole Hospital.

The Trust became aware that the Hospital Charities dept. were seeking a number of items on their New Year Wish List. One of these was a V Scanner for the Nuclear Medicine dept. This enables nursing staff to be able to locate and see clearly veins to safely and effectively administer cancer treatments.  The Trust was delighted to be able to offer sufficient funds to purchase the scanner and we are pleased to report that the item is being used to great effect to help ease the peace of minds of patients particularly children and the elderly. Our pictures show the scanner and the item being formally presented to Ali Fallows and Val Power, staff in Nuclear Medicine by the Chairman of the Trustees Stuart Dean.

Broadstone Choir Concert

Broadstone Choir performed Handel’s Messiah at Broadstone Methodist Church and kindly offered the Trust the opportunity to make a collection when patrons were leaving the church.

The Trust held its Annual Collection at Haskins Garden Centre. The management and staff have been kind enough to allow us to collect at the store for several years and due to the generosity of the Haskins Customers a total of just short of £700.00 was raised over a 2 day period.

Many thanks to all those involved.

PHCTT Coffee Morning

Due to the generosity of the management and staff of Rick Stein Restaurant at Sandbanks, the Trust held a Coffee Morning at their restaurant. Pam, Elaine and Jenny, Trustees of PHCTT worked very hard in arranging this very successful event which included a raffle with over 30 excellent prizes. It was a superb event to raise awareness of the work of the Trust and we hope to repeat the event sometime in the future. A total of £1,200 was raised by the charity towards future purchases of equipment for Poole Hospital.

Goodbye to valued Trustee, Wendy Yeatman

The Trust were sorry to bid farewell to one of its most valued members when Wendy Yeatman stepped down after serving as a volunteer trustee on our committee for around 15 years. Her contributions to our meetings and involvement in our activities will be greatly missed by all concerned.

Our picture shows our Chairman, Stuart Dean, presenting Wendy with a small token of our thanks for her contribution to the Trust over many years.

The Trust is made up of a relatively small group of volunteers attending committee meetings around 5 times a year and helping with fundraising activities.

We are always looking for suitable new members and if you feel this may be of interest contact the Chairman, details on the website.

Folk Festival at Wimborne – June 2019

The Trustees organised a bottle stall at Wimborne Folk Festival and were blessed with a beautiful day. It proved to be a very popular event with those attending and it was good to meet a number of old friends who had raised funds for PHCTT previously.

At the end of the day over £400 had been raised by the volunteers who helped thanks to those attending.

Photos below of the helpers before the event started, during and towards the end. Many thanks to all.
